The year 2008 closed with an overwhelming response to the “Pepsi Meet the Dream Team Campaign” which catapulted Brand Pepsi to be among the top 20 brands of Nepal. Year 2009, Pepsi has come out with a sequel named “Make Your Dream Team” with an objective of building and strengthening on the international imagery and appeal and take it to greater heights of excitement with a strong consumer connect and participation.
Pepsi has set its eye on taking this year’s campaign a step further; by engaging its customers to make their Dream Team - collecting the crowns featuring the top notch International Footballers – the heartthrob of Nepalese fans.
The new Pepsi campaign features international football stars like Thierry Henry, Cesc Fabregas, Kaka, Lionel Messi, Fernando Torres and Frank Lampard. Together, they make the Dream Team.
This year’s Pepsi summer campaign in Nepal kicks off with the airing of a fun-filled TV commercial across all major TV channels, featuring these international football players. Consumers will have to collect the crowns featuring the four of these football stars and win exciting prizes.
At the end of every week, through a lucky draw two of the lucky winners will be entitled to an all expenses paid trip to Bangkok and Pataya. There are other exciting prizes like I-Pod's, Reebok branded footballs and T- shirts to be won every week. Of course, thousands of others will be able to enjoy their favorite Pepsi, of course free!!
The third Lucky Draw for the campaign was held at Hotel Yak 'N' Yeti on 28th June, 2009 in the presence of the Media people. The lucky winners were drawn by personnel belonging to the Media. The two lucky winners of this week, to win an all expenses paid 3nights/4days trip to Bangkok and Pataya are Bimala Pandey from Kathmandu and Ratna Kaji Suwal from Bhaktapur.The next Lucky Draw will be held on 5th July, 2009. Artamus opens its doors in Kathmandu

Artamus AB, that is based in South-East part of Sweden, has opened their new office in Kathmandu Nepal. The office is managed by the subsidiary company Artamus Nepal (p) Ltd with it's CEO Jonas Lindblom.
The office has touch of Scandinavian design displaying examples of Swedish design products. Located in Panipokhari in central Kathmandu, the office is easily accessible from all parts of the city.
CEO Jonas Lindblom states, "We are very excited to open the doors of our new office. I am looking forward to be able to expand from here and to be a part of the growth of both the companies."
On the agenda of Artamus Nepal, is a deeper focus on SEO for mainly European clients who want to improve their visibilities in search engines in a cost effective way. Artamus Nepal takes advantage of the lower cost in a country like Nepal in order to be able to deliver a high quality service at a moderate cost.
For L&L the first launch will be a launch of new cosmetic line that is unique for the Nepali market in the sense, that this new line of cosmetic products is intended to bring high consumer satisfaction with impressive assortments of great quality. Nepali coffee is basically unknown in Europe but it has a market and flavour is very suitable for markets like Scandinavia. Also products like Sea buck torn berries has a large market in Scandinavia. These berries are grown in high altitude in Nepal and it provides an income for poor farmers in Nepal.

Everest - Ghar Dailo Banking Sewa launched

The product has already been launched at 8 villages in Baglung. The bank also has plans to launch the service in Nepalgunj soon.
It is a known fact that banks do not have access to majority of the people living in the village. Thus as a step towards financial inclusion whereby people living in remote village can have access to modern banking system, Everest Bank launched it’s Everest - Ghar Dailo Banking Sewa in Bhaktapur Region on 24th June 2009.

Through this system customers can avail banking facility through a biometric enabled smart card and machine. The customers would be provided with a card on opening an account. The card can be accessed for transaction through a machine held with our authorized correspondent located in the village. Thus the customers don’t have to take the pain of going to cities and towns to avail banking facilities.

Khagendra Thapa Magar of Nepal is waiting for his chance at a world record. Magar is only two feet tall and weights ten pounds! But he can’t be classified as the world’s smallest man until he officially becomes an adult.
Excitedly awaiting his 18th birthday in October of this year, Khagendra and his family are in contact with Guinness to take the official crown from 2ft 5in He Ping Ping of China.
Weighing only 10lbs, Khagendra has become something of a celebrity in his native Nepal, where politicians have joined the clamour to see him recognised as the smallest man in the world and villagers have dubbed him ‘little Buddha’.
Doctors believe Magar’s size is due to a malfunctioning pituitary gland, but no definitive diagnosis has been reached.

R15 riders from Nepal to participate in R15 championship, Chennai

Yamaha’s Super Sports YZF- R15 customers’ experienced the breathtaking acceleration of the bike on a race circuit as a part of racing Championship organized on Irungattukottai Race Track at Chennai. Loaded with true Yamaha racing DNA, the all new YZF- R15 provided complete racing experience to the biking aficionados and hands on feel of its power, stability, cornering and braking.
Yamaha places special importance on race activities which have always been an important part of Yamaha’s corporate culture since the company’s founding and a way of expressing the ‘spirit of challenge’ that it value so highly.

Jharana Thapa who was the guest of honor, graced the occasion with her presence. This meet gave a clear indication of the growing strength of UB group in Nepal. USNPL currently has eight brands under its umbrella and is planning to diversify in the near future by introducing foreign scotches.

Completely different from a music festival, the "Fête de la Musique" is above all a free popular event, open to any participant (amateur or professional musicians) who wants to perform in it. This Music day allows the expression of all styles of music in a cheerful atmosphere.
In Nepal, the “Fête de la Musique” has become more and more popular.
Last year, on June 21, 2008, they organized this celebration on Durbar Marg, just in front of the old Palace, and this event gather more than 25 000 people during the afternoon. On that occasion, more than 10 bands performed.
They also organized smaller stages with our artistic partners at Kathmandu Jazz Conservatory, Nepali Folk Instrument Museum, Gurukul, Nepal Sangeet Vidhyalaya and Yala Maya Kendra with International Music Society.
In 2008, they were basically able to offer to the public the biggest musical event in Nepal.
This year, it is said that the concept will be a little bit different and they will have the chance to welcome a French band, quite popular in France nowadays, KWAK.
The KWAK concert will be on June 27, 2009, at Nach Ghar, Jamal.
As you maybe know, for the 15th year, AFK is organizing the Fête de la Musique between June 20 and 27, 2009.
