Artamus opens its doors in Kathmandu

Artamus AB, that is based in South-East part of Sweden, has opened their new office in Kathmandu Nepal. The office is managed by the subsidiary company Artamus Nepal (p) Ltd with it's CEO Jonas Lindblom.

The company is focusing on search engine optimization, PPC management and web development. The sister company L&L House of Commerce will operate in the same premises with L&L focusing on import and export of products between South-Asia and Scandinavia.

The office has touch of Scandinavian design displaying examples of Swedish design products. Located in Panipokhari in central Kathmandu, the office is easily accessible from all parts of the city.

CEO Jonas Lindblom states, "We are very excited to open the doors of our new office. I am looking forward to be able to expand from here and to be a part of the growth of both the companies."

On the agenda of Artamus Nepal, is a deeper focus on SEO for mainly European clients who want to improve their visibilities in search engines in a cost effective way. Artamus Nepal takes advantage of the lower cost in a country like Nepal in order to be able to deliver a high quality service at a moderate cost.

For L&L the first launch will be a launch of new cosmetic line that is unique for the Nepali market in the sense, that this new line of cosmetic products is intended to bring high consumer satisfaction with impressive assortments of great quality. We have several new products that we believe are suitable for the Nepali market, and that will be introduced to the market together with different partners, says Jonas Lindblom. The range varies from hydro power, real estates, telecommunication equipments to bakeries and beverages.

For export, we see a huge potential of Nepali food and beverage products as well as different herbs and spices. Nepali coffee is basically unknown in Europe but it has a market and flavour is very suitable for markets like Scandinavia. Also products like Sea buck torn berries has a large market in Scandinavia. These berries are grown in high altitude in Nepal and it provides an income for poor farmers in Nepal.

The opening was attended by several important Nepali business people, Swedish entrepreneurs in Nepal and Mr. Shrestha, the General consul of Sweden in Nepal,. The guests enjoyed snacks and drinks and listening to a speech held by Jonas Lindblom who spoke about the company and his thought about introducing Swedish products in Nepal and the future of IT outsourcing to Nepal. Artamus Nepal Sales and marketing manager, Miss Rubina Rana, was responsible for the management of the whole event which was a big success.

Everest - Ghar Dailo Banking Sewa launched

It is a known fact that banks do not have access to majority of the people living in the village. Thus as a step towards financial inclusion whereby people living in remote village can have access to modern banking system, Everest Bank launched it’s Everest - Ghar Dailo Banking Sewa in Bhaktapur Region on 24th June 2009.

Through this system customers can avail banking facility through a biometric enabled smart card and machine. The customers would be provided with a card on opening an account. The card can be accessed for transaction through a machine held with our authorized correspondent located in the village. Thus the customers don’t have to take the pain of going to cities and towns to avail banking facilities.

Currently the facility would be offered through five VDC viz. Nagarkot, Gundu (Ward No-3 and Ward No –6), Dadhikot, Duwakot, Tathali, in Bhaktapur.

The bank has been offering various innovative products and services since its inception. This new product is a revolution in the banking history of Nepal and is a new breakthrough in terms of banking technology.

The uniqueness in the technology lies in the fact that even illiterate people can operate their account through thumb impression. The machine reads accounts through biometric data stored during account opening. Thus the operation of the account is safe and secure.

The product has already been launched at 8 villages in Baglung. The bank also has plans to launch the service in Nepalgunj soon.
